Behavioral, Biology and Chemistry. 16th annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas
We are excited to share the achievements of our team at the 16th Annual Behavioral, Biology, and Chemistry Conference, held March 22-24 in San Antonio, Texas.
The first poster, titled "Exploring the Therapeutic Potential of the Nociceptin/Orphanin FQ-NOP Receptor Pathway in Opioid Use Disorder Treatment," was presented by Maria G. Balaguer, Marsida Kallupi, and Giordano de Guglielmo. This research delves into the promising role of the nociceptin/orphanin FQ peptide (NOP) receptor pathway as a novel target for treating opioid use disorder, offering potential new avenues for therapeutic intervention.
The second poster, "Nicotinic α3β4 Receptor Modulates Addiction-like Behaviors in Alcohol Dependent Rats," was presented by Paola Campo, Michelle R. Doyle, Selen Dirik, Ran Qiao, Nurulain T. Zaveri, Marsida Kallupi, and Giordano de Guglielmo. This study explores how modulation of the nicotinic α3β4 receptor influences addiction-related behaviors in alcohol-dependent rats, highlighting its potential as a target for reducing alcohol dependency.
Additionally, we are proud to announce that Paola Campo was honored with a travel award for her outstanding abstract.
Congratulations to Paola and Maria for their hard work and dedication.
